Well, March has come and gone, and we were busy photographing plenty of sports teams this month! We started the month out at 850 Elite Volleyball We got to take photos of 13 Blue and 14 Blue players, and they brought the heat! We got some great looks from some fierce athletes! They had fun picking some great individual poses from my posing charts, and even came with their own ideas as well! We had plenty of time for their sessions, and we made good use of it!
We also photographed the Rocky Bayou Softball and Track teams. This was my first time photographing both of these sports, and we had a blast! For track, we took pictures in the gym and used a white screen to extract the images. This allows parents to choose from a multitude of backgrounds when ordering pictures. We don't limit their choice to one or two, or generate only one background for pictures. As you can see, they chose to use different backgrounds for their players.
We photographed softball in the traditional manner out on the field. The girls we amazing and really had a great time with their media day session. We even had extra time thank's to the coach and parents who were there helping out. So we took some cool "posed action" shots and other pictures. It's the extra stuff that makes the sessions special! The catcher even put her gear on for some great photos!
We also took sports pictures at Ruckel, taking care of their Tennis, Flag Football and Baseball teams this month. For tennis we photographed in the gym because the high school had a match at the courts. I brought in an artificial turf rug, some Pro Light Mods and made the players look like superstars! Flag Football and baseball were shot outside traditionally. With construction going on around the flag football field, we got creative with the shooting angles to minimize the fenced areas. We shot low for a dramatic look, and created a very small depth of field to blur the distracting backgrounds as much as possible. We also had to fight the wind and smoky haze, but we powered through! Baseball was shot in the morning so we had some fog issues, but we got some great images of the players! We even had the scoreboard lit up to read 2023 for a unique look.
Finally, we had the opportunity to photograph the Meigs baseball team as well! We got some great looks from the players here as well! They were ready for pictures! We thought the rain might roll in and make things interesting, but it held off and allowed us to get in a great session.
